English abstract:
The indoor climate conditions in and the energy performance of a building can be significantly affected by the way the building's occupants interact with its environmental control systems (heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting). Traditionally, design and operation of such systems are not based on a thorough understanding of the pattern of user behavior concerning the environmental control systems in buildings. However, recently multiple efforts have been made to better understand the nature of control-oriented user behavior in buildings. In this context, the present paper outlines an ongoing effort to better study the patterns of user behavior in buildings with regard to building systems for heating, cooling, ventilation, and lighting.
